North of Yosemite-9/17

This ride has a focus of fun off-road stuff on Saturday north of Yosemite. The idea is to travel on Friday Mill Creek Campground on the 108 . It's about 60 miles from Angel's Camp on pavement. I hope to meet Rob in Angels Camp sometime around 2:30. It's about 181 miles for Friday for Chico guys and for Rob out of Prunedale. From Angels Camp to Mill Creek Campground is about 57 miles. Depending on time, we have an offroad option to get to camp.

Gas in Angels Camp. Get supplies for dinner and breakfast.

Then, I've designed a predominately off-road route for Saturday. It's 3 sections. It'll be about 105 miles to gas. So, with Friday night's 57, this seems reasonable for all of us. We gas in Barton...there is also a market there. The market is open until 9 it seems. Shouldn't be an issue. Then it's 25 miles to White Azalea Campground.

Sunday is just getting on home the fun yet easy way. I have a Sun_1 track to get us back to the 49 and then from there we use Friday's track again home. Guys who love freeway can get home sooner.

Friday Offroad Track (if we have time, from Angels Camp) Fri_Offroad

Saturday track 1: Sat_1 This gets us from Mill Creek camp to highway 4

Saturday track 2: Sat_2 That gets us to the town of Barton on the 88 for fuel and food prior to camp.

Saturday track 3: Sat_3 This gets us from Barton to White Azalea campground, though there are a couple of other campgrounds nearby. White Azalea Campground Info

Sunday track is basically the reverse of Friday to Chico but this gets us out of camp and back to the 49: Sun_1

Andy, since you are in a car, I figure Friday is a no brainer to hang with the bikes. Saturday you will need to leapfrog. So here's a link for you for Saturday from Mill Creek camp to White Azalea Camp. I don't know if you want to try to meet up with us in Barton for supplies and gas or not, but you could. We ride offroad to camp, but you go paved with short dirt road in it looks like. Special Andy Route: SAR

For sure attendees thus far:

  • Pete, Kurt, Andy, Forrest, Mike, Rob, Matt C., Alan, Dave K.

Guys still working on it but feeling positive:

  • Bill K, Wade

I think I have all of that correct. If not, please don't have any hurt feelings!
