Laguna 2017

Ok boys, here are the routes for Thursday and Friday. I need to talk with Alan, but I'm thinking we will just reverse our routes on Monday and Tuesday and not over think this thing. You can join us for all of it, some of it, or sadly, none of it. Remember to buy your tickets at : http://www.mazdaraceway.com/ticket-information

There are two tracks for Thursday: Thursday 1 and Thursday 2

There is one track from Woodside camp to Rob and Patty's house: Friday 1

Rob and Patty's address: 418 Paradise Rd., Prunedale, Ca. Stuff that into your gps pipe and smoke it if you need to just get yourself to the house Friday night or Saturday.

Here's where we will be camping Thursday night: Woodside Campground

Here's the general plan for this trip:

  • The races take place July 7-9. Alan and I feel we'd like to go to the track both Saturday and Sunday pretty much full days. Therefore, we'd like to end up at Rob and Patty's in Prunedale Friday night. So, we want to head out Thursday afternoon/evening and then camp that night (camp site yet to be determined) and then travel all day Friday. We also want to head on home Monday, with a possible camp night on Monday night.

  • Nicky Hayden, one of America's best and most celebrated road racers, died recently in a bicycle accident in Italy. He will surely be celebrated at this race weekend. It has already been happening at other races. This race is both the European World Superbike and the American series, MotoAmerica, so it will have a big feeling of melancholy for #69. He was a fan favorite at Laguna for many years. This will make this weekend extra special. You can learn more here: Nicky

  • So, depending on your time and needs, you can join in for all of it or just some of it.

  • There is no cost for staying at the R and P ranch, but you will need camp gear to either sleep on the floor of the shop or pitch your tent.

  • Patty traditionally puts on a superb spread of food and beer. Therefore, we all pitch in cash for the cost of this. Figure 40-60 bucks.

  • Buy your ticket for the races at tickets-buy Saturday/Sunday 2 day general with paddock

  • If you plan to travel home on Sunday, then only buy Saturday tickets maybe. Right? Amiright?

  • I will set up routes soon enough, but think of a little offroad at the start of the trip, but mostly, it's a street ride. That said, it'll be the slow scenic route with lots of stop for fits of laughter.
